This web site has been created to assist you to keep up to date with developments on the river Spey at Grantown on Spey here in the Scottish Highlands within the Cairngorm National Park.
It will be of great interest to you to learn that the River Spey is the most productive salmon river in Britain, (with the exception of the Tweed). The total number of declared salmon/grilse caught in the entire Spey in the 2006 season was 11378. This was the best season since 1995 and the fourth best in the last 25 years. Based on the last 4 years catch returns, our association consistently produces nearly 4% of all of the Spey's rod-caught salmon.
The Spey is also acknowledged to be the best sea-trout river in Britain, (with the exception of 2 rivers in Wales). In 2007, 19.5% of the Spey's rod-caught sea-trout were landed in our waters.
Please feel free to browse our site to gather information about the history of our Speyside club, how it is run and for whom. There is a pictorial tour of the river and its 32 named pools, a photo gallery of some specimens and events from past and present plus news and views on angling matters.
Log on regularly and check our News Page for information about water height, prospects and weather. Check out our new Planning a visit to Grantown page to help you plan a memorable visit to our stunning angling club water here in the Highlands of Scotland where permits are always available for the day, week or season. The Association has been frequented over the years by many well known angling figures, Tommy Edwards, Arthur Oglesby and Hugh Falkus to name but a few, each rated the fishing at Grantown highly as does Andrew Graham - Stewart writing in Trout and Salmon:
" The banks are well looked after, even manicured in places. There is clearly a great determination to maintain the club's pre-eminent position among associations."
Praise indeed and good to now that we are lucky enough to have what is probably the best Association water in the country.

What can S.A.I.A Offer You Either as a Member or as a Visitor?
Importantly the Association has secured the fishing rights to Upper Castle Grant all week. This means you can fish from Saturday to Saturday on the most alluring club water anywhere in the country.
Non-Resident membership is available at £580 for the year for 6 miles of double bank fishing on the Spey and 12 miles on the Dulnain.
Fish and a beautiful fishing water, what a combination.
