Local youngster Robert Shearer with his 22lb Salmon

Congratulation to young Robert for his mammoth effort in taking this magnificent fish. At 12 years old he is showing up his elders and there is no doubt he will continue to do so in the years to come.

Winner of the Junior anglers trophy last year with a 14lb salmon, he has just won the Trophy for the biggest fish of the year, Junior and overall. Not satisfied with this monster Robert has been no slouch with several more fish to his credit.

Cameron Cosgrove (above), is another keen local angler. Cameron was only six years old when he landed this gleaming 6 & 1/2 pounder which was still covered in sea lice.

The 2002 winner of the junior section, heaviest fish, was Thomas Mitchell. He caught a three and three quarter pound sea-trout on his very first 'spinning' outing. In fact, it was on his third cast. Thomas was just 7 years old at the time.
